At http://www.paralegalgateway.com/career.html I found this list of alternative paralegal careers:
1) System/Network Administrator
2) Pharmaceutical Specialist
3) Conflict Analyst
4) Patent Database Administrator
5) Director of Client Development
6) Legal Recruiter
7) Legal Software Representative
8) Independent Paralegal Consultant
9) Travel Industry Specialist
Other than those ideas, as someone else suggested, you might be able to transition into the IT field. From what I've seen, you don't necessarily have to have a computer degree to get an entry level support position. It varies from employer to employer, but a lot of times, experience is accepted in place of the degree.
At our local university, yearly salaries for these types of entry level positions start in the low to mid 30s range. You might also want to check your local hospital's job postings. With your legal/computer background you might find something you would be qualified for.
I also have to tell you that you are grossly underpaid! Nationally, average salaries for entry level paralegals are usually in the low to mid 30s range. And, those salaries soar higher with experience. If you are only being paid $20,000 you should check with other law firms because that's the salary of a legal secretary - not a paralegal.
An Administrative Assistant or Office Manager earns more than $20,000 a year, both of which you are certainly qualified for.
One last piece of advice would be to make sure you brush up on your resume and cover letter writing skills. They are what usually makes the first impression with a potential employer, so you want them to highlight your qualifications and present a polished, professional appearance.
Hope this helps and good luck!

I would say IT, however you want a job that keeps you sane and left with some dignity, I tell you what a computer gettting the better of you is not dignified. A job in a law firm as a paralegal, however dignity and sanity may be a questionable topic. What are you really in to? What is your passion? Can it be a job that pays the bills? Can you enjoy it? Why not be a sheriff or police officer???

Why don't you try going to work for the FBI? Sounds like you have a variety of things you can do and I think that would appeal to them.
