I go to class every night at the Prentis Building on Wayne State's campus (around Woodward and Warren) and I need a recommendation on where to eat dinner somewhere within walking distance of the Student Center preferably... any good, non-fast food, not La Pita Fresh places around there?

I went to WSU some time ago and if it is still there, I would recommend Epicurian (or Epicurus - can't remember) Place on Warren Avenue. It's Greek food, decent and not expensive. It's certainly better than the Tubby's, Wendy's and other fast-food places scattered down Warren or Woodward.

It's on W. Warren between Cass and Woodward.

Good luck!

Try Union Street (about 4 blocks S of campus on Woodward) . They also have great food and an excellent bar.

3rd Street Saloon had great burger when I was at WSU (on 3rd Street South of Warren though I am not sure if it is still open).

Honest John's Bar on Cass (bar food)

Also try the Traffic Jam & Snug (South of Campus) near Cass & Canfield.

If you can go beyond walking distance, there is a good Thai place in Eastern Market on Russell Street (Sali Thai..not sure on spelling) also around the corner from there on Erskin & Riopelle is the Roma Cafe (solid Italian food)....further down Russell in the centel part of the Market is Bert's Place (great jazz and good food).

Town Pump is a very nice place. The food and drinks are very good. If you like italian i recomend trying Marios. Its expensive, but it is well worth it.
