I've heard that when people really feel they can't take "any more pain" etc - that they have doctors assist them with death.. Is this true? And how the heck can people do this?

I'm not asking this for myself. I was just curious because I've heard stories about it.

I love how the Dutch law cites that the patient must be at least 12, and if under 17 they need their parent's consent. I believe in liberal human rights but that's Kinda creepy, no?

Oregon its legal and you can go to the Dr and he confers with a second Dr and he will give you medication to put you into the eternal sleep. Most patients that do get the medication about 10% use it. usually the others go out on their own.

that would be called physician-assisted suicide, and it's not actually legal in any part of the u.s.
the most famous person known for doing this is dr. jack kevorkian, who was later arrested and charged with murder and now sits in prison for the rest of his life. he believed that he was helping these people who wanted to die by easing their pain.

I dont believe it's legal anywhere in the states. Have you never heard of Dr. Kevorkian? He is in prison for helping those who had terminal illness. And if one attempts and does not succeed, they have a choice of going to jail or being committed. So, if you feel your pain is too great to endure, PLEASE seek help for yourself, and those who love you.....

No. In some states you need permission in writing from your parents. It applies also to abortion.
