Have you tried to offer one free cleaning for demonstration...? EX: Most people know there are places like Kirby that tries to sell you on the most expensive vacuum you will be using as a skate board to get to work cause you had to pay the vacuum payment and not nuff for a car). Anyways, Offer sample cleaning like a 2ft section of one of their carpets. If they want the rest cleaned tell them you will give them a discount and charge them the regular fee minus the 2ft section. You have to be able to prove your cleaning system works...when people see free they usually take you up on it.
Another suggestion might be to pick up your phone book and go down the list telemarketing to set up service for cleaning. Good Luck!! LL.

David you need to make those fliers and go door to door. Save a percentage of what you do make for advertising. Put cards in every place there are to put your cards. Get on the Internet and make sure your name pops up when someone looks up carpet cleaners on the yellow pages on line. Talk to people. Do a good job everywhere you go. Do not try to be a up selling freak, I hate those people and will not ever have them back. Go meet people who build houses, They have to be cleaned sometimes. Go to a mobile office company and solicit your self. Be a drop cheaper than your competition. Go to a different church every week. Get to know every one in town that way. Advertise and Network on your time off and do a good job when you are working.

Pass out flyers, or use a company that distributes ads for you to residences, newspaper ads. Make up a nice ad, put copies at the grocery, flea markets, etc. Door to door marketing. Approach some businesses about doing their carpets. Hope this helps some. Good Luck.

Hi there..^_^
I'm only 15 now but I'v alredy decided to become the owner of a nice bakery. As I thought over it, I sometimes thought how I'm gonna advertise my bakery. and I though of these things:
1) Free cakes or cookies in the first day of the opening of my bakery.
2) Funny, joyfull and true advertising through posters of stuff like that.
3) Personal relationship with the customers, providing thier own space of course...^_^
4) In your case, I think you should provide free demo.

Try running an ad in your local paper. Something like 2 rooms plus one hallway for a special price. Do a good job and word of mouth will make your business grow.

Coupons are a big deal to me. I usually throw away advertisements, but if I get a coupon in the mail or see one in a newspaper, I pay more attention to it. You can go to local businesses who allow people to post business cards on their bulletin boards and put the coupons up there.
Also, what are you driving? Do you have magnetic signs (or a painted truck) that explains your business and gives readable contact information.
Network, network, network. Do you attend classes at night, go to church, volunteer for little league, etc? These are great ways to meet people and get your name out there. Sponsoring a kid's sporting event usually gets your name out and you can hand out coupons to the parents. Ask your current customers for referrals or offer them a discount for repeat business.
I hate when people do this to me, but you could put flyers on car windshields (with coupons) to get more people to know your name.
