i love all of dean koontz books. he is truly one of the best fiction writers in the world, right up there with stephen king. he makes his characters come alive in your imagination. dean koontz is absolutley, without a shadow of a doubt artistically creative twisted author.

Dean Koontz is an awesome author and writes similar to Stephen King in that he takes twists and turns that are unexpected.

I love Dean Koontz. I think he writes more of hope than of horror. His books are easily read, and his characters are interesting. His more recent work is more enjoyable than his earlier stuff. I really liked Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, and Life Expectancy. If you've not read him before, start with Odd Thomas. - Andrea

I really enjoy most of his story ideas but his writing style drives me up the wall. He takes 5 pages to set up a scene when 1 1/2 would do. Too wordy for my tastes. I prefer Stephen R Donaldson or Stephen King for this reason.

As far as his horror novels, they're mildly entertaining. He did write an excellent children's book called "Oddkins" some time ago that I would rank right up there with some of the best fiction for kids ever written.

The stories are decent, but sometimes predictable, but I enjoy reading him a lot. I find them very entertaining. You don't have to think too much, just enjoy the ride.

His early books were BRILLIANT. Don't know why the movies always suck. Lately it seems like he is obsessed with messianic figures and ultimate struggle between good and evil and I don't read him anymore.
