Have you ever given or received a creative gift for Christmas? I was trying to think of something neat to give people. Any advice?

"Gifts from a jar" A friend of mine gave me a large mason jar with a decorative piece of material on top, tied with some weird straw type string..
Inside was all the ingredients(besides an egg..i think) to make chocolate walnut crunch cookies..(can't really remember the cookie, but i could find out for you).
She had a recipe/instruction note attached, printed on beige cardstock, and cut around with craft scissors. Looks really neat.
I didn't make the cookies..I still have the jar on my countertop. I think it is a neat and thoughtful gift, and looks pretty in my kitchen. I get a lot of comments about what a great idea it is. The ingredients are layered evenly(eg. inch flour, inch oats, inch brown sugar, inch chocolate chips..etc). Looks neat and professional.

Either that, or just homemade cookies and treats. You can inexpensively make batches of cookies(some u can make early and freeze), then just buy pretty packaging..be it bags or boxes, everybody loves to have treats to put out with company around, or just to eat with tea. :)

Good luck with this! Merry Christmas

My Aunt always gave unusual gifts. One year I got a ceramic nativity set. I recieved it, unpainted, around Thanksgiving & was to paint it & send it back for them to have it glazed for Christmas. It was a neat idea, she bought a HUGE set & I felt rushed to finish it in time. I would have liked it more if it was much smaller.

She also made alot of gifts. She gave my Mammaw a huge box full of everyday items she'd need throughout the year; toothpaste, detergent, tp, shampoo. Most of it would last her until the next Christmas.

I made a whole stationery set for my mother-in-law for this year, and I painted a picture for my mama. And for my sister-in-law I'm making a bunch of homemade beauty products. Fun stuff! It is great to make gifts instead of going out and buying them.

My friends and I like to make scrapbooks for one another. The materials are really cheap. You can use just about anything. As long as you have pictures printed, you are ready to cut and paste!
