Should I quit?
Yes, definitely.
And why?
Because it's not natural. It takes away your (and others') freedom. Freedom to chose. If you want medical reasons, you'll find plenty on the net.
Tips?
Various tips have worked for various people. You would have to chose your tip based on which one suits your temperament.
But if you think, Tips are only external. If you return to your natural, healthy state, you wouldn't need tips. The cravings will not arise when you return to your natural state.
Tips for that? Yoga helps. Meditation helps too. Or better still, attend the "Art Of Living" breath workshop. I've seen people quit without even consciously trying after attending this workshop and practicing Sudarshan Kriya(R). All such habits which are not good for you just drop off!

Everyone should quit when they want to....Mine was for health reasons and honestly I had smoked 50 years and tried several times with the patch, nicotine gum, finally I had a friend that got lung cancer. She had 1/2 of her rt lung removed. I think that is when I really started to think about quitting and I did cold turkey and you know it isn`t as bad as I thought it would be actually about 5 days I started feeling better. I keep hard candy and gum around to chew and keep my hands busy with croqueting, crossword puzzles, computer. Now it has been 2 months and I feel good. The best thing to not tell anyone that you are quitting cause if you screw up you`ll feel bad. I hope I quit in time but I really don`t know. I am coughing up alot of splegm. Guess this is natural after smoking. Your green and regular are methols? Drink alot of water when you decide to quit. I really don`t have many tips to tell you wish I did. Good Luck to you whatever you chose to do!

Depending on how long you were a smoker it may take quite a while for your body to rid itself of all the damage smoking caused. It sounds pretty normal to me but getting on a antibiotic definately wouldn't hurt, just to be safe.

My friend it's better you stop smoking. someone in the neighbourhood accumulated a lot of nicotine tar in his nerves and this disturbed the free flow of blood. the weak nerve ruptured. he suffered from excessive pain and almost died. thanks to the doc who diagnosed the problem early enough. the guy has progressed well in his studies and career after quiting the puff.
The smell from the mouth of a smoker is not fresh.
Smoking accounts for a big chunk of your income that could have been saved for future use without you noticing it.

once you stop, all your senses gradually return to a normal state. eg. food will taste good again
and you'll get sick less often.
I don't care if you stop or not, but I will say it's a good idea.
try stopping by focussing on something else, like gymming or jogging or swiming or cooking or any sort of hobby.
detox will still be tough though

when you quit the little cilia that have been knocked down from smoking will come alive again and clean them selves off by coughing- so drink plenty of fluids to thin the phlegm- to something w your hands and thoughts- quitting will prevent high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, lung cancer, emphysema- and other health problems- take care- my dad got lung cancer- D

i heard that the best way to quit is to realize how badly smoking affects you and this knowledge convinces you to willfully quit.
i smoke rarely now, but i used to smoke more. i quit because i had to, my lungs were in pain and it hurt when i breathed.

yes. you need to stop. i went to the bodies museum in atlanta and i got to see what smoking does to the lungs. it messes up you system and it's pretty gross what it does to you. once you stop, you will feel better, breath better. you may not feel better right away, but you will notice great changes. smoking also hurts the ones you are around and does alot of damage to them.

you can buy a vaporizer on ebay. it eliminates most of the carcinogens and other harmful things. if your lungs are sore then you need to at least cut back or a while. they are telling you to give them a break.
