I want to buy about 3 acr of land in the country i want to be near a farm and apart from knocking on farmers doors i would like to know if there are any sites i can go or any other suggestions would be appreciated

The Farmer's Guardian and Dalton's weekly are a good place to start.
You would need to get the Farmer's Guardian each day of the week, because I can't remember which day the land sale day is, but I'm sure it is there.
3 acres isn't a lot though, it would probably cost you a lot of money. Land prices fall with the amount you buy; depending on the area, half an acre might cost you £30,000 an acre, while 500 acres might cost you £2,000 an acre.

contact a regional land agent who will know all the local farmers/landowners and quickly let you know whether they might consider a sale. Many rural sales happen 'off-market'.

contact area realtors. many of them specialize in farmland. they will be glad to help you find available land or connect you to someone in the area that you are interested in.
