I was trying to install the new Sims2 game on my PC, but the installation stopped at disk 3 when trying to install file "control2.dat". Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this?

That has happened to me a couple times before on some other games. I just rebooted the pc and ran the setup program again - It was hanging up on one of the disks for some reason (those dat files are big). Also, check the surface of the disk to see if there are any scratches or pieces of lint. (good luck)

that problem got here to me additionally previously.. there could be a difficulty while shifting documents from one to the different.. the only element i did is to alter the dvd/cds to a sparkling disk that has the replica of the comparable application.. i think of there is not any longer something you're able to do with the problem.. sorry..
