I pretend to care much less than I do, I hide a lot of stuff that way.

When you watch a violent movie and you see some bad guy with a machine gun blowing up people all over the place does it freak you out? Probably not. Because you've seen that sort of thing 1000 times. It's a sad truth of the world we live in today. We've become so conditioned to it that all of the madness and mayhem are now the norm and we don't know how to react when it really happens. Or perhaps you've been hurt in the past so badly that you are numb and you've put up an emotional wall to prevent further injury. The wall that keeps the hurt out also inhibits your ability to feel for other people.
Pray and ask God to help you feel compassion for people. He wants us to be loving and caring. It's within you. You just have to find it again.
God bless you!

I know what you mean. I'm like that also.
If my kids did something bad, (even a minor thing like spilling milk) he would flip. Because I didn't he would say it's because I don't care. I thought ,like you, that there was something abnormal about it.
I was talking to a friend about it (he's been in alot of therapy and AA). He said it's called " Acceptance " You know there's nothing you can do about it. When I thought about it I realized he was right. I had a b/f yrs ago who would ask me "is it gonna ruin your life?" every time I flipped about something. Maybe that's where I learned it.
Anyway, if you are compassionate, kind hearted, and loving person, I don't think there's anything wrong with you.
I think there's something wrong with people who flip over stupid stuff.

yeah some people rather incredibly do care and supply straightforward advice. yet there'll continuously be people who % the easy way out, giving a bad reaction. Why do you experience such as you're crammed with badness? and notwithstanding while you're, a church team might help besides. each and every from time to time all we want is somebody to communicate issues over with who wont choose us. That way we are able to start to be sure the place our problems or thoughts come from. You sound such as you have had an exceptionally no longer common start to existence and that i'm sorry for that, and that i'm effective it incredibly is the explanation why you experience such as you do. i do no longer know what age you're, yet ought to you perhaps circulate and notice some type of counsellor, or what approximately attempting to make acquaintances in college or at artwork. regrettably you are able to no longer make people love you, yet you are able to start to objective and love your self somewhat extra and attempt to make your self a happier individual. while people see that, they could be extra at risk of be acquaintances.

Maybe you just have realized the simple fact that there is nothing to really work yourself about in this world except money, taxes, and going to vote. As long as you have a voice, and you can use it, you don't have to always 'do' something.
Either that or you are just clinically depressed and have put up an apathetic front so you don't get hurt again. It could be a regressive tactic.

i read alot of the answeres and im not sure if anyone is getting what you are truely asking. i think you are saying you cant feel for that person or you dont know how to. i wonder if anyone has tought you empathy. try actually visualizing yourself in someone elses shoes. the pain you would feel, the betrayal, if you can learn empathy, you will most defanately learn to care. i need to go to bed now so if you are serious about learning what i do to have empathy , email me at skysmama77@ yahoo.com and tell me more about yourself and your life experiences. ive gone through hell in my life to and there is so much that i have learned that i think averyone should know.

first of all I am very sorry you are going through that!!!! You have probably become numb from putting up with things such as that. I truly think you do care you just really don't know how to deal with it and who would???? Maybe you should seek out some couseling to sort out your feelings, I am a caring person yes and I can cry for others very easily, thankfully I have never had to deal with any of what you mentioned but I did watch my mother go through that, it is not easy and everyone has their own answer on how to handle it. Good luck to you. and bless your heart!

Why pretend everyone reacts differently to situations. Who cares if people think you are wierd. Tell them you think they are weird for reacting the way they do. Be true to yourself and never feel that you have to be something you are not for the sake of fitting in.

I disagree. You sound like you have your priorities in order. Why worry over things that havent happened or arent your fault? Those who do suffer from anxiety and depression, but you will probably live a healthy full life.So BRAVO! Being emotionally unstable doesnt prove that you have feelings, its proves you are weak.

You sound like you are clinically depressed or you are a sociopath. Go to the doctor and get some meds. Or be happy with the numbness.
