My advice would be to diversify as much as possible. It would make up for what you feel is "lost time". If you are going back into psych and pre-med, why not try to get a minor in studio art. True, they are left and right brain occupations, but there's no reason why it cannot be done. If your school allows you to create your own major, you might consider combining them all. That way, you can work as an art therapist as well as any of the other fields offered with that degree. It depends on whether you are going back to a community college or a 4 year college. Remember, there are online course you can take as well as certificates you can earn in adjunct to your degree. I know someone who went back to school after 20 years and got a dual degree in Art History, Studio Art and a minor in English Lit. It made her very desirable as she could teach across the curriculum and made her much more valuable as am employee. That kind of degree can open up jobs such as teacher, college professor (with post grad degrees), studio art teacher, studio artists, curator, arts administration, director of art museums, some companies even hire people with degrees in psych..the list goes on.
Figure out exactly what you want to do, then talk to someone you admire and ask how they did it. Make sure you talk to advisors at your college also as well as checking our career resources. If you examine your options carefully, you will find there is much more you can do with that degree than you can imagine. AND...don't let anyone rain on your parade..

Unless you plan to do a PhD in psychology, don't waste your time. The starting pay for jobs requiring a bachelor's in psych is not competitive. Aim for something like an MSW or MSN degrees or if you want to do pre-med, major in biology or biochem, something like that.

Oh, this is right up my alley. Take your time, get to know yourself. I think it is Crown Ministry that has a great career section and testing etc. You are so normal in taking time out. There are billions of sources out there.Go online and take the free or $5 Myers Briggs test and the resulting connecting info is amazing, so helpful in career ideas too. Good luck and go with your true passion.

You can be a psych tech in a residential psych program. Or a case worker in any number of mental health organizations.
Look in the newspaper under "mental health" or "health care" for jobs or just start calling mental health organizations and/or hospitals in your area.

Find a volunteer job in a field you enjoy. Volunteer experiences really open doors for young people. Work at it for a few months, and then decide your academic future.
