You need to always call your doctor when pregnant before taking anything, but I can tell you what my doctor told me to take (I'm 16 weeks pregnant now and have had the crud for awhile.) My doctor told me to take Tylenol for pain and Benedryl or Sudafed for the cold that came with the sore throat. She also said I could take Tylenol PM at night because I couldn't stop coughing. I didn't take Tylenol PM because the Benedryl and or Sudafed knocked me out. I only took these for a couple days because though my doctor said it was ok, I still wanted to take the least medicine possible. I know it stinks being sick while pregnant (like there isn't enough wierd stuff going on with our bodies right now.) Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.

Hmmm, call your doctor and have him do a throat culture to rule out strep throat. You don't want that while you are pregnant. He would be able to give you medicine that is safe for the baby.

At home, just take some honey cough drops, and if you have a humidifier, run that in your house and it will help ease the pain on your throat.

Hope you get to feeling better!

Try gargling with warm salt water. Also ice-cream is all I could eat when I was pregnant and had strep throat. Doctor's orders. Also you could try tea with honey and lemon. Good luck and I hope ou feel better.

I agree with previous posts.
You can take tylenol
You should gargle with salt water
Most importantly you should see a MD. Some infections affect the baby. Run, don't walk, to the nearest phone in the AM.

You need to go in to be seen by your doctor tommorow, if it is strep the virus if untreated can pass to fetus. Until tommorow gargle with salt water & take tylonal (not extra strength).

You could have strep if it is really bad...better go get it checked by a Dr. The last thing you want now is to cause an infection to your baby.

Tylenol is ok to take but get yourself checked to make sure it is not something serious please.
