And doesn't that mean my wedding band should be silver if ALL real gold jewelry does that to me? :)

Ah, but it is pure gold. Unfortunately. I do not get "marks" on me; just redness.

I am assuming that the gold you are referring to is 14k?

14k gold is only 50% gold, so I am assuming that the other metaloids and metals blended in are adversely effecting your skin. You can always try 18k or even 24k if that doesn't work. 18k will still have metals blended in but 24k is 99.9% gold.

If neither work, then you will have to conclude that you are allergic to gold, which is not impossible. In that case, purchase platinum jewelry, and we can only hope that it will suit your skin.

You're probably allergic to gold. Your wedding band can be silver or platinum, or a metal processed to resemble the color of gold.

Gold is completely inert. It does not rust, tarnish, oxidize or stain in any way. It should not do anything to your skin. I suspect the item in question is not pure gold...

Gold does contain other additives...COPPER. You are more than likely allergic to it. White gold contains nickel... Just becuase it bothers your skin DOES NOT MEAN ITS NOT REAL!
