Don't ever use a condom that a guy has been carrying around in his wallet! That ups the chances of breakage! I reccommend in my sex ed classes that girls bring their own condoms. Keep them away from heat (like don't rest the box on or directly over a heater). Check the expiration date (easier if you bring your own). Some lubricants can contribute to breakage. Be smart and use a spermicidal, too. In fact, I've heard that that may help with STD's if the condom does break-not to mention the pregnancy factor.

If you put it on wrong. It has to be pretty air-tight except for a tiny bit in the reservoir end. You have to pinch the end while you roll it on.
If the person's penis is big, and by that I mean fatter than usual then they can break.
If you and/or the condom are too dry, the condom can break.
Don't expect the guy to know either. They say that they can feel the condoms but trust me, when they break, the guy doesn't say "hey wait a minute, it feels really good all-of-a-sudden". That will not happen. You will see that the condom is broken when it is all bunched up at the base of his penis, when it's too late.

Condoms break for lots of reasons in many situations. They are latex not titanium.
The can break if there is a flaw in the latex, if they are put on incorrection, if they catch on a nail while being put on, if they are old, using an oil based lubricant. Etc. Etc. etc. Some studies suggest they break 2% of the time.
Of course they fail in other ways as well or else condoms would be more effective than they are.

Having sex too rough, not putting it on just right, having a faulty condom, or slipping off are some circumstances of a condom breaking.
The chances are very high...that's why condoms are only like 92% effective.

If it is too small/too tight it could break. If that's the case try bigger ones like Magnums, Magnum XLs made by Trojan, just a larger size : ) Make sure they're not expired. If the latex has been around for years it must not be effective, why else would they expire. Buy a good brand (Trojans, Lifestyles, etc.). Don't buy them at the 99 cents only stores, lol
