There are a few options, & oh, btw, air asia does NOT fly to KL from S'pore.
Bus from Golden Mile Complex on Beach Road. There are tonnes of bus companies there, leaving at multiple timings in a day so take your time to shop around for the most suitable one for you. Prices can be as low as SGD29.00 one way.
If you are more into enjoying the process of getting there, cross the Causeway at Woodlands Checkpoint with SBS Bus 170. Immediately across the border, in JB, Larkin bus interchange, there are way cheaper buses and even more than Golden Mile. In fact, they have buses to every destination you could possibly want to go in M'sia. Oh, have I mentioned that it's way cheaper to board from there??
Have fun!! While in KL, do visit Chinatown, Jalan Petaling for some cheap rip-off stuffs.

Singapore to Malaysia by bus is very common. It's just a 1hr++ flight so most people go by bus. If you would like to go by bus,try Luxury Travel(Singapore-KL and back only) or the famous Grasslands Travel or Five Stars. But the queue for immigrations at Malaysia is very long. Another option is to go by the KTM train that goes all the way to KL Sentral. But it's dirty... Longest travelling time.Chewing gum in Singapore is banned for your information. Hotel:Singapore-Quality Hotel, Hotel 81 is like 2 stars or so if you don't mind,2 levels or so and there are many branches.Kuala Lumpur-Istana Hotel,Penang-Traders Hotel. Hope the information helps.
