Check the battery and connections, the battery is dead or not making good contact. Not a fuse problem.

backyard mechanic, yes it has a solinoid and if it turns out not to be the battery like you have been told ten times it could very well be the soliniod. reasoning; solinoids usually lock up and when they do they make a loud not to loud click. the problem is most of the time they do it when you go to start your car and the noise is not heard with all the other things making noise. you may have got to hear it. lucky you huh?

i own a repair shop, and it could be a fuse on it but you might need to check the battery connections on it,they may be loose or corroded real bad on it, but the way you described it ,,there's a good possibility it might have blown a fuse and it may be one of the main ones in the fuse box for it,you,ll have to check all of them to be sure, and if you do find a blow-ed one ,replace it with the right size fuse ,this is very important, good luck,i hope this help,s.

I think 01 Chevy Silverado always go "click" when turned off. Get a Ford. They go "pop". Dodges goes "wham". And you don't want to hear about Nissan's.

not a fuse. check the battery. this just happened to a firned of mine. i think the clicking is the silonoid on the starter trying to engage but not quite making it. get a jump, or replace the battery.. actually replace the battery.. better safe than sorry.

Sometimes the positive battery post will start to leak acid and will corrode the cables and terminals on G M trucks. This will cause a no start, and other problems.

Yes, your battery is not making good contact. Clean the cable ends and the battery posts and make sure they are tightly connected. Try and start it again.

Dead battery, or loose, corroded, crusted battery cable connectors.
