No that is not right! Cheese is just fine to eat. Don't over eat it and you will be fine. If you want a smart baby, play a lot of classical music while you are pregnant, and also while your child is young! It has been proven to work! It does something to the brain waves! It worked for my daughters!

Other than soft unpasterized cheese, then cheese is great for your body during pregnancy. I asked my doctor this a couple weeks ago (I'm 16 weeks pregnant) because I absolutely LOVE cheese. She it is good for me because of the calcium and she only warned me to stay away from veined cheese such as blue cheese and soft cheese like goats cheese. So enjoy the cheese, I know I will :)

No, cheese has the calcium that the baby needs for strong bones - get your recommended allowance according to the food guide pyramid. Just make sure you follow what everyone else said about the good and bad types of cheese.

cheese is a good source of calcium. this cannot hurt your baby. to have a "smart baby" make sure you eat lots of protien rich food, like eggs, which cholesterol is not a concern while you are pregnant, peanut butter, meat, fish, but be careful that the fish is good. check labels at the store, and take prenatal vitamins daily. i'm afraid your friend is wrong. i have been an ob/gyn/nursery nurse for over 15 years. they only things that will harm your baby is a poor diet, drugs, and alcohol. go ahead and cut the cheese! HAPPY THOUGHTS for your pregnancy.

Cheese can make you constipated, even more so than just being pregnant alone. So you might want to take that into account.

I heard there was something about soft cheeses like Brie, Camenbert might be ones to avoid during pregnancy due to bacteria- listeria. Please check the link/source below. It pays to be careful. Best wishes to you.
