6 weeks and really hungry all of the time, how can I be eating for two if the second person I am eating for is the smaller than a grain of rice at the moment? I do throw up a lot of liquid and feel sick all day, but I noticed when I do eat I am hungry again straight away.. is my body trying to put on weight?( I am not underweight) where is it all going?

Make sure you are eating a balanced diet with a good variety of foods. Your hunger will take longer to satisfy if you just eat the types of food that you like the most and don't eat a balanced variety at each meal.

I totally know what your going through. I went through the same thing with this last pregnancy. Try to eat smaller and more frequent meals and snacks. I don't know how often you are hungry but, lets say in the morning you eat cereal and juice for breakfast then in a couple of hours have some fruit of some kind. Then eat something for lunch. Then like a granola bar for an afternoon snack. Stuff like that. Try eating saltine crackers whenever you feel nauseated. Also make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day as well. Good luck hun. If you want to you can email me with any further questions. babyvoice69@yahoo.com

Girl, you got a growing baby inside of you. You'll eat more, but that don't mean you gotta eat the whole buffet because you pregnant and everybody know you pregnant. Your umbilical cord via placenta gives your baby all the nutrients from the food you eat. So that is another reason why you feel hungry because the baby is yankin all your nutrition. Another thing is too is to take iron pills because you can become anemic and pregnant women's iron levels tend to drop. Try to eat as healthy as you can. But I was soooo sick for 5 months, I lost weight. And I couldn't even hold down a bowl of soup. I threw water, soda, everything up, and I hated it. I had to be on medication to keep it down, and by my 5th month, the nausea finally calmed down. Eat foods with amino acids, many whole grained cereals have this.. Fruits, veggies, pasta.. stuff like that. Aside from the cravings, drink a lottta water, and STAY ACTIVE. THAT IS THE FACTOR BETWEEN HAVING A GOOD SMOOTH PREGNANCY AND A REALLY BAD AND MISERABLE PREGNANCY. I'm not saying that you will, but walking and stretching will help.

Yes for some women its normal, I felt this way my whole pregnancy and put on 75 lbs and lost every pound of it within six months, because I just wasn't hungry after I had the baby I had to force my self to eat. LOL It was like I ate enough to hibernate.

Oh god yes! I ate and ate and ate and ate ... and ate! lol. Like you i was sick alot too so it sort of balanced out i suppose! lol. And i made myself snack on things like fruit and vegetables etc so although i seemed to CONSTANTLY be eating i didn't actually gain weight in the first trimester.
I am 17wks now and my eating habits have changed considerably - i still eat more frequently (in smaller portions) than pre-pregnancy but i don't eat ALL DAY LONG! lol
Your body will start to balance itself out so don't you worry. Just try not to indulge in fast foods everytime you're hungry (mine was hot chips.. had to fight that urge alot! ... still do somedays!!)
Best of luck :)

Yes it's normal - your body is busy growing and feeding a whole new human being, so it needs plenty of fuel to do that. Just make sure it's the right kind of fuel. You don't need to 'eat for two', but you shouldn't restrict yourself too much.

It is extremely normal. Just try to make sure and eat only good healthy foods, even if you are craving the bad ones! And remember, everything you are eating is going to be affecting baby! Also remember that how you eat while you are pregnant is going to determine how much harder losing it after baby is going to be!
