I've never actually gotten angry before answering question on Yahoo until now. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna assume that you're about 15 years old and listen to the radio a lot. I don't even know where to begin here - you listed 5 pop songs that combined make up 1/2 of a halfway descent song. "Raised the bar..."? - if anything, the general public is now dumber for any of these songs being produced in the first place. Hinder is the closest thing to talent you listed and even that song is about as complex as the 12 piece puzzles my 15 month old daughter puts together. The songs you've listed are good if you want to turn off your brain for 3 and a half minutes...I'm too frustrated with this question to continue....

Are you serious?
just because you love these songs, does not make them the best of all time. Listen to some real music, stuff that actually took talent to right both the music and the lyrics. Listen to music that has musical and lyrical substance. This music you speak of is POPULAR music, it's what is popular in this day and age. I absolutely hate it, but that's just me. I give credit to songs i don't like where credit is due, but it is certainly not due here. None of these songs are even good enough for a top 500 list of the greatest songs of all time. If you want to love this music, there is nothing stopping you. Just don't try and claim it as the best because it is obviously not. And i'm not the only person that will say this, because it's fact, not opinion.
Thankyou

Some how Justin Timberlake and "best music" should not go in the same sentence.

OHHH Sweetie....You are entitled to you opinion. I know that different people connect with different music for different reasons. My suggestion to you is to turn off your radio and expand your horizons, a little schooling in rock and roll 101 wouldn't hurt. Don't let people tell you what to like, including radio stations

This was a horrible year for music, especially rock. The only good thing about it was Foo Fighters.
