The Pros of a DVR is that you have no messy or bulky VHS Tapes to fool around or keep track of and you can set it and forget it with a season pass. also u pause Live TV for up to 30 mins and record one show and watch another.
The Cons are that it has a monthly fee 12.95, and u either have to have a Wired or Wireless homenetwork and a telephone jack nearbye.

Tell them to get the dvr from comcast. its only 9.95 a month and records two shows at once.
