The play version of the movie "You can't take it with you". If anyone could tell me something about the history of the play (Awards, showings at major theatres etc.) it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

The play was originally written in 1936 by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. It won the Pulitzer Prize. It opened at the Booth Theatre on December 14, 1936 and played 838 performances.

I thought this was pretty funny: "the 'play version" of the movie..."

The play is by the great American comedy-writing team of Kaufman and Hart.

Apart from that, I'm sure a well-aimed Google search will get you what you're looking for.
