I am just south west of Fort Worth, right on the line between zones 7 & 8.
I was wanting to ask questions on fall planting, transplanting bluebonnets & other local stuff.

We are doing so dirt moving & such (filling in washed out areas & leveling of small hills) & I was planning on doing some fall planting in the freshly dug up dirt. BUT we have had some delays. It looks like the area won't be ready to plant until around November 7th. Is that too late? I was wanting to plant Sage & Nandina and wildflower seed.

I also have bluebonnets growing in the back yard where we want to be able to mow. When would be the best time to transplant the bluebonnets?

And what are good bulb flowers to plant that will produce flowers year after year without having to dig up the bulbs & replant in the spring?

Most of the planting will be in full sun. Some will get a little afternoon shade.

I live in Dallas. Check out the native plant society's web site. I know the Dallas site has a forum, although I don't know the other chapters.

I also live in Texas. I receive monthly gardening tips from Home Depot and Lowes. Just go to their website and click on Lawn and Garden and look for gardening tips. I also use this website:
