He was born Jan 19, 1809 in Boston. His parents were both actors, mother died when he was three, father deserted the family Poe died in 1849.

He lived and died in Baltimore, Md. He died from fever and pneumonia. The guy who sent you the websites to research was right. Check it out.... Every year some leaves a bottle of Rum with one rose on his grave on his birthday. No one knows who it is or why this is done.

the "lease" on his gravesite ended at one point, and someone ended up paying it to keep his body from being dug up. can't remember who, though.
