It's sort of like a game.
The guy wants to have the regular girlfriend but also wants to be able to have other girls to mess around with. Plus, he also wants to know how much he can get away with and see if he ever gets caught.

Honey the question of why men cheat has been going on longer than you and I have been on this planet. The reason they don't leave their current spouse is about the only thing they put some thought into. For some, it's the security of having someone they can come home to and depend on for all their dirty work (chores). For others, it's solely financial reasons. Men still have the notion that if they are caught cheating they stand to lose everything. Then, of course, there are those who know damn well that there isn't another women in the world who is going to put up with as much crap as his spouse would. As pathetic as it is, it's about the only way I can sum it up without going into detail. I've been cheated on by one of these "I can't live without you" men. And eightt years later, still with him, I've learned a thing or two of what really was behind the intention to "work things out".

I guess they like the thrill of having a girl on the side. A divorce could be a sticky situation and if there is cheating involved, the person who is being cheated on usually gets more out of the divorce. There are usually a lot of ties with the person the man is originally with (kids, house, assets, etc.). Men just want to have fun sometimes (not that it is good.)

because they love the person they are with so they dont want to leave them, there has to be a reason they cheat though, its not always sexual reasons. Sometimes they are missing something at home or arent getting something from their partner at home so they go elsewhere. Or maybe hes just a cheating bastard . . .
It could be either you know, and I agree with the answer above, its women who do it too

I've always wondered why men cheat to begin with...I suppose if you're the type that doesn't just break up with someone when it's not working and goes and sleeps with someone else, there must be something holding you to the first person.

Not sure where you have been living but seriously I am sick of men always be classed as the cheaters....have a look on any of the Adult dating sights, yahoo chatrooms....or anywhere...there are so many women out there that cheat, they just hardly get caught....some would say it is casue they are better at it than men...

Personally my opinion is that people men/women don't want to leave in most cases due to getting hit up for Child Support and/or Alimony.. plus they feel comfortable at home and take advantage of it.. Both sex are this way.. Not just Men.. :)

I always thought it was because they were greedy and couldn't handle not having more than one woman at a time. Same with women who cheat.
