okay your in luck i am a computer dude. Okay by the improper shutoffs being mad is never good. Sure we sometimes think thats a faster way of getting the computer to shut off but thats not true in fact if you do it so much it often frys the motherbord and cpu and can also at the lest deprogram the computer. Best thing since i am not in front of the computer is to take it to a computer repair shop , i totally recommound the guys at bestbuy or you can call them to come to your home geek squad . They know what there doing by all means and will help you with any problem!
Hope i helped!

Just wondering if maybe he switched the power supply off. Look at the back of the computer toward the top (if it's a tower) and find a black switch with a "I" and an "O". Make sure the side with the "I" is pressed in, this turns on the power supply.

After this is done try the on/off button on the front again.

does it turn on but not boot windows or not turn on at all.. as in no hums clicks or fan noises? if it is not hums and clicks, could be the power supply, but if pushing a button caused it, maybe it is just the power switch. if windows won't load, put in the windows cd and format and reinstall windows
