The decision to have an abortion (or not) is made wholly by the woman. If this is so, should men be included in writing and voting on legislation concerning abortion?

(This has nothing to do with LIFE vs. CHOICE)

Yes men should. Abortion is evil. I am pro-life. Women should not be allowed to commit murder and not suffer consequences. Abortion should be allowed only if the womans life is in danger.

No one else should be deciding but the person who is in that position. This is a basic conservative statement that many people who claim to be conservatives need to pony up on. If you believe that government should be small and unintrusive into daily life, than how do you propone legislating something as personal as birth and conception? I can see how many men would think that they do have a say as to whether an abortion is carried out or not. Men are half the equation after all. I think a lot of women loose sight of this when they pursue the right to choice. A man has just as much at stake in a pregnancy, aside from medical concerns of the mother.

The unborn child is only half the mother. The father should have some say in the decision. However I do not believe there should be laws governing abortion unless it is some sort of penalty for those that use it for birth control. Perhaps after a certain number of abortions forced sterilization would be in order. The unborn child is 1/2 the mother and 1/2 the father. Im really not thinking that the father should have too much of a say in the decision but should at least be notified. It is the woman's body. If she does not wish to carry the child she should not have to.

Good question.

Since women have this burden. It should not be up to men to decide legislation on this matter. However in the human social structure, the male is the dominant gender and has the responsibility of making decisions in regard to the female. Remember a time women didn't have the right to vote? LOLZ

yes. and i think men should have a say on if the baby lives or dies.it shouldn't be only up to the woman and the laws should be changed . it took two to make the baby it should be a joint desison. cause if the woman decides to keep it and the man don't want it money says she will be recieving a pay check at least until the kid is 18yrs old (child support ) some times its a win win for the women even though dna proves the kid is part his

I think each situation is different, whether the woman's life is in danger, case of incest, rape, or it is used as a form of birth control. Obviously, incest and rape are not the woman's fault and women should have the right to make the decision on their own on this. When the mother's life is in danger, she should take care of herself. When it is for birth control, personally I am against that but it can get difficult when you are involved with someone. Men can have a voice in this case and they should agree what will work best for them if this is possible.

I've always thought this was an interesting debate. Here is the woman's right to choose being dictated by men. It's ironic isn't it. However, at this time we are seeing more and more women being elected into positions of power. Power to govern this choice. And, I think it's a good thing!!

And, Chief can talk all he wants...but in the end it's the woman's body. If she can't tell you what to do with your body, how can you tell her what to do with hers?

Men on the Supreme Court of the United States already settled that question for all of the rest of the men in the legislatures of America. So what's your point?

No more than they should be involved in legislating whether a women can choose botox or to paint her left big toe green.

Unless "it" is an actual live human. In that case normal rules & laws pertaining to live humans should be employed.

Why not? Check your numbers again. Men are just as involved in the creation of life as women are.

I have often said that I'm male so I have no right to express an opinion, but I later realized, I DO have a right.
I have the right AND the responsibility to guarantee women have the rights to govern their own body.
