You will need to know someone over there, in order to send it. The military is no longer accepting random letters/packages for the troops.

Anything other than hard candy is not going to fare well over there. My boyfriend is in Baghdad and I just sent him tons of candy... all hard candy and stuff that won't melt.

There are flat rate postage boxes that you can send for $8.10, through the USPS. They can be as heavy as you want and you can have as much or little in the box as you want, as long as everything fits in the box without overstuffing it. Find a friend or family member that knows someone over there (everyone seems to know someone these days, sadly) that would appreciate the candy.

congress can't stop the president from sending the troops, yet what congress can do isn't funds the money to pay for all of it. it really is the position the partisan politics by technique of those that say they help the troops yet not the president will be forced into the mild of day. the end results of not funding the troops is in basic terms not that they don't seem deployed in basic terms that they don't get what they want to do their jobs, or receives a fee. The quite unusual component is that the best results of congress not budgeting for the troop boost is that the money to deliver the squaddies abode is in basic terms not there, nor for the diverse guns which will be left in the back of, unguarded for everyone to apply that needs to. i comprehend that I heard on the instantaneous that Australia has lost in basic terms 2 troops in Iraq, i comprehend, 2 troops too many, yet even it really is evidence that sure it really is risky, yet possibly more effective risky contained in the lengthy run now to not deliver troops?

Don't send chocolate, it tends to melt on the way and make a gooey mess out of everything. Hard candies, non-chocolate items would probably be appreciated. The easiest way is to find someone who is over there, send the box to them, and they can distribute it however they see fit. Your local military recruitment office can probably help put you in touch with someone if you don't know anyone personally.

That's a great idea, poor guys, don't have time to celebrate Halloween, the American way! Loads of candy for all the soldiers!

You should call your local VFW post or American Legion post. They will tell you what kind of food products are acceptable, and where to send it. A nice thought. Maybe you and a group of friends could send them a big GOODY box for Thanksgiving.
