Vampires were invented during a time in the dark ages when people suffering from leprosy were treated for their disease by having them drink human blood. As time went on and the stories evolved into myths and the myths evolved into legends, wealthy and powerful people who were afraid growing old and dying and tried to counteract both by either drinking or bathing in blood were added to the stories as vampires - Vlad's son Dracul was one of them. As time went on and Catholicism came into play, many of the people in the Bible's stories were altered or changed to suit the people in power at the time - this includes the belief among some that Caine (who killed his brother Abel) was the first vampire (I forget how they "supported" this story, though).
Now vampires are simplified as blood-drinking, ageless, nightwalking creatures of incredible strength, speed, and agility, some always in human form, some being able to transform into things varying from mist to bats to taking on other peoples' likenesses.
There are even some people with blood fetishes.
But, no vampires aren't real.

Vampires are real, when I was young, I aspired to be a priest of the Russian Orthodox church. Just after I had become a fully-fledged priest, my family was victimized. I will not undergo the details, but I have, over the years, become damn good at killing them. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than killing them in the most slow, painful means possible. Still, after a wolf-man took my life, my only true love, my hatred was cemented.
I do not know where they came from, all cultures seem to have vampires, shape-changers, and even 'dragons' but I have never encountered a real dragon, perhaps they are extinct. Still, the fact remains that I hunt vampires, I do so for my vengeance, but I have made it into a lucrative business. My price is $20,000 per head, and I will show no mercy to those bastards. I will not stop until I've killed every single last one of them, ripped their guts out, and strangled them with them.
The world may not understand my hatred, but the vampires will soon enough. All I have to say to those of you who are still innocent, stay out of my way, and if you hunt, stay out of my territory.

Vlad III the Impaler; also known as Vlad Dracula or Vlad DrÄculea. His Romanian surname Draculea (transliterated as Dracula in foreign languages of the historical documents where his name is mentioned) seems to come from his father's surname Dracul (see Vlad II Dracul); the latter was a member of the Order of the Dragon created by Emperor Sigismund. Vlad's family had two factions, the DrÄculeÅti and the DÄneÅti.

Technicallyno. Dracula was a real person and the closest society has ever gotten to meet real vampires. If you mean Dracula was real, then yes. Vampires that turn into bats and suck people's blood at night, no.

Based on truth,but not literally.Some speak of psychic vampires.I was told I would be considered a vampire after a certain mystical experience I won't mention.Someone once said,"Unless ye eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man....."

no, vampires are not true, dracula was invented from a real life leader of Romania nicknamed "Dracula" a long time ago who ruthelessly killed people, but he didn't bite people or "suck blood", vampires never existed

It came from a man who tortured people in his castle, and Yes there s people who suck the blood of others, I have children in the basement now, so I don't have to go out at night, so I can watch my shows on the teli. I have plenty, parents keep sending them to me, I wish they would stop sending them C.O.D. though.I am Lord Vladimir. I am on the high counsel of all vampires.Real? Ha Ha Ha .Yes I am.
