I've travelled to Singapore and Mayalsia a few years ago. It's a very humid, tropical climate. But the cities are just as beautiful as any. Singapore especially is very stict on it's cleanliness. Malaysia isn't much different. They have some absolutely gorgeous art galleries, and the shopping OHMIGOD... so cheap!!! They also have some of the most spectacular resorts I've ever stayed in. And the people are really very friendly. Other than the humidity, I don't have a bad experince to tell you. If you decide to go, i hope you guys have a great time. All the best.

If you are looking for romance, go to the islands, like Redang, Tioman, Langkawi or Sipadan.
If you are looking to shop, stay within Kuala Lumpur.
If you are looking for food, that should definitely be Penang.
If you want historic monuments, look for Malacca.
But yes, it is an ideal place for a honeymoon. You will love the country and the people!!

The answer would be a NO. On your honeymoon, you'd want to be romantic and unfortunately Malaysia is somewhat of a close society. It's not as bad as Saudi Arabia but kissing in public is still frown upon and they expect their women here to be humble, shy and covered up.

If you are coming to Malaysia anyway, I'd recommend Tioman, its slightly more expensive but its has nice beaches and less evasive by the local police & more western orientated.

If you are coming for cost, I'd recommend Phuket in Thailand or Bali, Indonesia. They are definitely more open there. Me thinks Bali is now safe ya, no more Islamic terrorist?.

Yes, please do consider to visit Malaysia which is truly Asia!
2007 is the year Malaysia will celebrate its 50 Year Independence! Is your best choice if you are intending to visit South East Asia. Here are my suggestions while you are there:-

1. Go climb the Mount Kinabalu, Sabah - the highest mountain in Malaysia and South East Asia.
2. Set for adventure in Mulu Caves, Sarawak - one of the deepest caves in the world.
3. Relax at Pulau Sipadan, Sabah - voted by National Geographic as one of the best secret hidden island of treasure in the world.
4. Indulge yourself in shopping haven in Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur and snap memorable pictures of Petronas Twin Towers while you are there.
5. Explore the reserve forest of Taman Negara, Pahang for the flora and fauna, and unique animal in Malaysia such as the Tapir.
6. See for yourself the historical state of Malacca/ melaka which was once ruled by the Portugis, Dutch, and the British empire.
7. Enjoy delicious variety of different ethnic and race's food and delicacies in Penang, e.g. Nasi Kandar, Cendol, etc.
8. Have a quiet time fishing and having fun in the Tasik Kenyir Lake in Terengganu and while you are there go to the beach to see live sea leaderback turtles lay their eggs!

I have nothing against malaysia. In fact,i have travelled to malaysia many times in the past. However, i do not think it is a good destination for honeymoon.

Firstly, be careful of displaying public shows of affection(malaysia is a muslim country-hence more conservative) I have one encounter when i was there with my husband. We kissed(peck on cheek) outside a cafe (not a crowded area).Somehow, one lady came out from inside the cafe, chiding us for "immoral" behaviour!Whose business is it for her to chide us like that???No doubt that you will not be locked up in jail or anything for showing affections, but you will get some dirty or leering looks from people if you kiss, hug or wear something sexy.

Crime rate for some cities in Malaysia is terrible! One of my friends was molested in Kuala Lumpur and another 3 were robbed in Johor Bahru. For myself,i was nearly run down by an unscrupulous taxi driver after i refused to pay his outrageous taxi fare(he tried to overcharge me by almost double)

I am sorry to all the Malaysians but i am not prejudiced or anything. These are me and my friend's true experience touring Malaysia. Not all Malaysians are bad people but personally, i just don't think that it is a good destination for honeymoon.

the answer is definitely yes...

if youre looking for a honeymoon spot in this region, then malaysia is the best place.. it has the complete blend of traditional, modern, nature in one place.. experience the batik making process in terengganu... The zapin dance in Johor.. and what i like the most is one of the various traditional instrumentals here.. the Gamelan! love it!

even tho malaysia is a muslim country, the muslim authority will do nothing to bother married couples especially the non-muslims to do wat you like... except u r doing it in public.. =).. ive seen the Globe Trekker show of which the traveler, Cathrine travelled to Xian, a province in China. Xian has an almost all muslim population... Cathrine described that in Xian you dont have to worry of getting cheated as muslims dont cheat... or at least, she said something like that...

thailand is an undoubtedly rich with cultures but becareful... the largest sex industry in the region is there.. you definitely dont want to destroy your honeymoon...

in the recent advertisement, singapore claims to have touristm spots that offers beauty, traditional, and history... yes, the city of singapore is beautiful but the whole island of singapore is merely a city! they dont have any more land to preserve their tradition and history.. in the advertisement, they simply show statues of the british settlers to describe history... and the attractions in the city are just fountain and light shows.... interested?? and from my personal experience, it was the worst place i have ever been... and i found a dirtiest toilet in my whole life at Queen Street bus station.. and everithing is expensive... rules are everywhere.. no chewing gum....

Yeah
If you like beaches, I highly recommend Pulau Redang, Langkawi, Sabah or Tioman.

Where are you from? But it is always good to do research first before you go.

Note: Do not believe those people who think Malaysia is not safe because it is a muslim country.
