It is very unlikely that you are ovulating now--the bleeding is just anovulatory bleeding. It takes about 10 weeks after giving birth for hormone levels to get back to normal but up to 6 months for non-breastfeeding mothers is still within the normal range.

My kids are almost exactly two years apart. They're good buddies. I'm super grateful for them. But, had I to do it all over again, I think I would have waited an extra year in between. Having two "babies" was tough...

It's always possible to get pregnant. But it's not super likely until you're regular again.

I have a 15 month old, and I'm STILL not regular.

Talk to your OB/GYN. He or she might suggest that you try a few cycles of birth control, which might help to get you regular.

Nice of your partner to want a baby asap
but will he carried it
what about your body, do you actually know how much blood you just lost
I would advise to be smart and give your body time to recuperate at least let your cervix/uterus back to normal
before you get preg again
