14 weeks of being nausceous off and on all day long, barfed many times on my way to work, and the bus ride home was horrible.
Went for an ultrasound and was amazed and in tears when I saw her moving around and hiding her face.
Didnt look pregnant till about seven months along.
In the end was in constant aches and pains and was to exhausted to do much of anything except go to work and laze around on the couch. Walking three blocks to wendys seemed like such a hard thing to do.
Could not bend over and touch my toes or even really bend over to grab things off the ground.
Loved shopping for the baby and feeling her kicks. Counted them every day... should be 10 in one hour.
Did not know I was in Labour, went to the hospital completely unprepared because everyone told me to and was admited.
Got an epidural...
Had her and was in love at first site.
my labour was two days plus the 19 hours i spent in the hospital.

With my first I was in disbelief I was ever pregnant because I felt so normal and never got sick. Then I woke up one morning at 7 months pg and realized I felt like a whale. I would go pee a lot at night towards the end. I woke up for the 5th time one night and realized it was only 2am and it was going to be a long night. Then I felt a very mild contraction. I was so excited! 13 minutes later I felt another. They consistently came all night. A couple hours later they started to became a little uncomfortable and 8 minutes apart. By 9 am I was in so much pain I couldn't wait to get it over with so I went to the hospital. I was so disappointed to find I only dialted to a 2. Things quickly progressed. By noon I got an epidural. 2pm I started pushing. Baby wasn't born til 4:27pm. 2 1/2 hours of pushing! I've heard this is common with a first baby! It's good to hear stories and opinions from other moms, but remember everyone has different experiences and don't let anyone tell you they KNOW how it's going to be. Good luck!!!

It's a waiting game. I read this great book "What to expect when your expecting" and would read ahead, but also check it every day to see what was happening.

I also suggest speding time in baby land ot your favortie store. Decide what you want for the baby, there are more things out there then you can use for one kid. I recomend a bassinet at first and a crib later. I also recommend lots of recieveing blankets for swaddling and simple sleepers.

Research breat feeding or bottle feeding and decide which one will wokr for you.

Lobor pain: You kow it when you feel it. It starts mild, kinda like a crampy period and gets more and more intense. Uncomfortable and painful at the very end. I hollered at my doctor, I'll admitt it.

If you end up going in with false labor, don't feel bad. Braxton hick contractions, are practise contraction that start in the second to thirs trimester, can get pretty intense too, but they will subside with walking around, warm bath, drinking fluids, while real labor just keeps going.

I went intwice with false labor the first time. The real thing lasted 18 hrs, but I had a epidual and was fine, tired, but fine.

The second time, it lasted 8 hours. I was induced with preeclampsia and the baby came before the anestesiaologist could get there. My labor coch missed the whole thing, it went faster the everyone thought it would.

I recommend educating yourself on what will be available to you and talking with the OB about pain control and the like ahaead of time. Also, remeber that things change fast with pregnancy and no plans are ever set in stone.

Good luck, God bless.

First of all, congrats and good luck. My pregnancy had virtually no complications. The first five or six months (After so long I stopped counting the weeks) I couldn't eat like I wanted to. I was starving but my stomach was so picky I could only eat haalf of what I wanted. On top of that, morning sickness at all times of the day. It can get really bad but it does go away. Ginger Ale is one of the best remedies for nausea. I stocked up for nearly three months and it helped so much! I was also supported by my family and now husband. Trust me, you will need back up throughout the nine months. I couldn't have done it alone. I don't know exactly when my labor started. My last doctor appointment , I was two centimeters dialated. After a tremendous amount of walking (which, if nothing else, gets your mind to focus on other things). Two days later, I was starting contractions. You will notice the difference between false and true labor. False labor is sporadic and I had plenty of that. When you do go into labor, contractions will get stronger and closer together. Try to time them. I called my doctor when mine were about a half hour apart. She told me to go to the ER when they were 7-10 minutes apart. Within six hours I was in the ER. When they checked for progress, I hadn't changed in two days. They kept me for a couple of hours. They checked again and were going to send me home. They no sooner left the room to get my discharge papers than I felt a large gush. My water broke. The nurse said "i guess you're not going anywhere after all!" I was going to try and avoid an epidural. I tried a pain medication and the techniques I'd learned in class but it didn't help. (I'm a big baby when it comes to pain) I ended up getting an epidural and was able to sleep that night before I had to start pushing. Since the baby was turned and putting pressure on my back, when the epidural wore off, she was sitting on a nerve in my leg. You'll know when that epidural starts to wear off. I didn't get angry or emotional. I just wanted her off my leg. My baby was born within twelve hours of my water breaking. Remember, your Doctor (Especially if he/she is an OB-GYN) is used to new moms. If you have questions or are unsure about anything, call your doctor. They can tell you if you're just nervous or if you need to be concerned. They'll help you. Good luck.

Never vomited, only gained 12lbs, I labored at home most of the time, because they werent that bad. I didnt go to the hospital until the pains were bad enough to keep me up. I pushed 2 times he was out. He was born on the due date, as was my other 2. I just passed out a lot throughout the 9 months with the other 2. As for the oldest, he was the easiest.

You are brave for asking people to tell you their labor stories lol. I was in labor for 18 hours, my son got stuck in the birth canal and then had to be turned and pulled out with forceps. It was the worse pain I have ever felt, BUT I would do it all again. Just remember women have been having babies for hundreds and hundreds of years and it is a lot better for moms to be than it was 50 years ago and you will make it through and have a beautiful baby to show for it. Good Luck and Congratulations
