NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE. Lots of people have bad handwriting - Doctors immediately come to mind and they're certainly not dumb or ignorant. My handwriting is so bad I can hardly read it myself sometimes - I've got a Bachelor of Science degree and I'm a high level manager in the Department of Defense. Don't worry about what other people think. What you said about your wife and son are right on the mark. Very few people hand write anything of importance these days anyway, we mostly use computers.
The next time your teacher tells you something like that, tell her some people don't have the luxury of sitting at a school desk and practicing their handwriting all day. She's a bully that enjoys putting others down to make her feel better about herself. Stand up to her and let her know that you don't have to take that kind of abuse. Then look for another class where the teacher is more concerned with providing a good educational environment than belittling their students. Good luck!

First of all.. she didnt call u ignorant.. she was stating a fact of how society see's things, unfortunately when u feel out job aps ect they will notice if ur handwritting is that poor, and yes unfortunately we do live in a society that judges a book by its cover..
She was giving u, constructive critizisim.. she wasnt insulting u.. but u obviously feel insecure about it, or about taking negative feedback of any kind to the point that u took it as an insult .. instead of getting mad, how about just working on ur handwritting.. u've already admitted that shes right about the handwritting.. so u already know its a problem.. so work on it.. even if it means going and getting those special green pads of paper that they give to elementary students when learning handwritting skills and practice, it doesnt make u any less of a man, only makes u less of a man if ur not willing to try and correct something that u already see as a problem.. real men face their own challenges, they dont hide behind them with excuses, and false pride..
So give it a shot.. cant get any worse, can only stay the same or get better..

I am so sorry, this must feel awful. Although her delivery of this info. was really below anything resembling a person with a heart, she was trying to do you a favor. This doesn't mean your instructor doesn't like you, in fact, she thinks you have enough within you to tell you to do something about it. Unfortunately, young men especially, got through school without getting the spelling thing down and were just pushed on to get through. You can do something about this and you sound like just the guy to do it; I think what she was meaning was be it right or wrong, people might have the perspective that you are ignorant if you can't write or spell. I would think it took a lot of courage on her part, but she might have worded it differently. Hey, now you can get after and re-write your own story, with a very happy well written ending!

She has no right to call you ignorant. However, she may not have mean to call you ignorant--she may have just been trying to encourage you (poorly) to work on your penmanship. Honestly, unless you are doing a handwritten job application, the chances of your handwriting EVER mattering are pretty damn small. Everything is computerized nowadays.
My brother was actually told that he was stupid by his 2nd grade teacher because of his handwriting. She called him stupid for many other things, too. She even told another student that he (the other student) would fail in life because he was dyslexic. There is NEVER an excuse for a teacher to insult a student, regardless of the level of schooling or the age of the student. If this seems to be a common occurance, you may want to talk to the dean or head of the department about her.

Homophobia? in contrast to many think of it would not merely advise worry of homosexuals, yet irrational worry. for this reason, people who come right here quoting the bible, they're hiding or misled. might Jesus choose us like they do? Or as yet another asked, until now Jesus died on the bypass became there a hell? I actual have many others for bible thumpers, yet that may no longer the undertaking handy. the easy certainty is they're in a position to't rationally furnish an argument approximately how we are incorrect. YouTube has given us some video clips to the different nevertheless :) Why homophobia? that's very easy, homo (or some actual use lesphobia now this is stupid) gay guy and phobia a$$hollow worry. Sorry I rambled, do you be responsive to how many trolls we get an afternoon?

Hello~ I am 38 myself and in college. She should not have called you dumb and ignorant. Some professors these days just don't give a dang with what they say to us anymore. I had one professor tell the whole class we were dumb and if we couldn't keep up that we needed to quit wasting our time. I stood up and walked out. Half the class dropped her.
Then tonite in class, the professor called two different girls names. I just cant believe what I hear.
These professors that do this, they are just in it for the pay check and don't want to spend the extra time to understand the student. Help them to understand it. It is a shame.
Yes, you have your family and they love you that is enough to keep you going. Don't let one Professor mess it up for you. So, you don't write the neatest, big deal. There are plenty of jobs out there where it won't matter. Heck, look at doctors writing. Who can read that?
Good Luck and don't let those Professors get the best of ya.

1st of all. Congratulations on gong back to college. At 37 that's a very brave thing to do. But I don't think she called you ignorant. She said that if you don't improve your handwriting, that others will get the impression that you are ignorant from your poor handwriting. There is a difference you know.
Your teacher is trying to inspire you to rise to your full potential.
Are you up to the challenge?

several issues here: first any teacher should be able to say what they want but as long as not intended to harm , rather better you would be the correct spirit of being a teacher in first place
2nd your teacher should be able to back up the comment and also suggest was to help you better it if you would like to instead of just leaving it at that. Also in order for you to recieve a teachers correction you need to face them. Asos as far as being loved by your family that is great and support is wonderful however it doesnt preclude you from learning to be a better. Ignorance is a lack of knowldege and can be solved by being taught so O' teacher where art thou?

no personally i dont think she has the right to call u ignorant but from what u wrote she is just trying to say that some people would regard u as ignorant by how u write but that does not mean you are.its just that some people think that because they write a certain way they r intelligent more than others so i dont think she was actually saying you are ignorant but then again i could be wrong hope this helps

I think that your teacher could have been more supportive and maybe even suggested some writing classes or courses that you could take to improve your handwriting instead of just spitting out her opinion. You may also want to report that to her superior. Just because she is your teacher doesn't mean that she doesn't answer to someone higher. What she did was uncalled for and unetheical.
