I had my 2nd daughter, in 15 months, by c-section 6 weeks and two days ago. I still have my lochia (spotting after birth), though it is really light. And occasionally every couple of days it is bright red. Did anyone else have this after this long?

By the way I am breastfeeding, too.

After my c-section I bled off and on for 10 weeks! My son is breastfed too. My eternal lochia was because, as I would guess is your problem, I couldn't just lie there and heal. I have other kids to care for and a household to maintain, but for every load of laundry there was another day of light bleeding;-( Relax, if you can, and it will go away eventually.
The good news is my period didn't come back until he was 1 year old!

Yes, I have 4 children. It usually lasts closer to 8 weeks for me. It usually is light but it is red. Not pink or faded or white as a lot of books say. And this is what your body is doing so it is likely what is normal for you. Give it a couple more weeks before calling your doctor and by then you should be going in for your check up anyway. If you aren't experiencing any other unusual symptoms I wouldn't worry about it. I know cramping is normal already especially when breastfeeding. Enjoy your new baby. It will get easier.

it could be a period, I was really irregular at first and the lochia kinda blended with the menstration for a while, so I wans't sure what it was.

I would call you doc, just to make sure. But if you arn't showing signs of infection ( fever, fowl odor, pain) then I think you will be fine.

Yes I did. When I went to my six week check up the doctor told me that some women bleed for 8 weeks. She told me that if it didn't stop then to give her a call.

It should be gone by now--it could be a uterine infection or just simply a hormone imbalance. Be sure to tell your OB about it at your 6 week post-partum checkup. Congrats on the little one!

Still bleeding after having a baby is normal, up to a point. Most women will contiune to bleed, especially if they are breast feeding or expressing breast milk for baby.
