I still don't know why Stern had the ball changed...that's just flat out stupid.
However, I certainly get tired of players who, according to themselves, have NEVER committed a foul... screw them... they're lucky I'M not a ref in their games, they'd ALL be gone... we'd be left with a one-on-one game between Tim Duncan and D-Wade...everyone else would be gone for complaining about my calls!
I'm sure that Stern and the officials have let the players know that complaints are not going to be tolerated...if the players are still stupid enough to "test" this, then they deserve whatever they get called for.

To borrow a phrase from a national sports publication, the apocalypse came upon us when the marketing (bleeps) went after the female dollar, the casual fan dollar, the corporate dollar, and have been scrambling desperately to regain the popularity they enjoyed in the days of Jordan, Bird, and Johnson. The NBA lost me due in large part to the Sixers undoing by former owner Harold Katz so I really don't follow it enough to explain why they would change something that didn't require change. The ball worked fine.

I agree with you on everything EXCEPT the complaining rule. Nothing is more annoying to me in sports than the following two things:
1. Wide receiver getting up after what he perceives is pass interference and pulling at the fake flag on his pants and crying like a baby for a flag.
2. Basketball player going up to an official with the "you can't possibly have just called a foul on me" face. It is so stupid. The two greatest offenders of this are Sam Cassell and Rasheed Wallace (and dude, i am a pistons fan and it annoys me). I am so glad they finally enacted this rule. Now if the NFL joins up, I can rid my sports of the two most annoying features.

i think stern is taking the focus immensely away from the sport..when i was really young i would see players on the bench laugh and chill in their own clothes..i still see that but you can tell iverson isn't in happy..lots of the players don't like stern..i want to see more physical plays and physical interaction
