i know that it's halloween today, but it's not a holiday. it's a devils day. you should not be celebrating halloween, especially you Christians out there. Do you really think it's Godly to put on costumes and scare people, and walk around in the dark asking for candy, when you don't know what kind of people are giving you candy? do you guys know how much kids get killed on halloween? what do you think that is...a coincedence? how come teachers say "have a SAFE halloween...don't you think they know that halloween is dangerous? i know many of you think that it's just a harmless, fun day for kids, but think about it.

I respect your opinion... Halloween certainly has a dark side. But for our family, and for many, it's an innocent time to dress up and greet some of the neighbors. It's a wonderful time for us to meet some of our neighbors that we haven't met yet and see others we don't get to see very often, as it was tonight. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly and polite tonight, as always---It's like a party on the street, celebrating "neighborliness."

Hon, calm down. Not everyone is a Christian. It is not a " devil's day", it is a holiday. It is actually a religious holiday, and no I don't mean "satanic". Halloween is actually the Pagan new year. Paganism is not satanic or devil worshiping or any of that bull. It is being kind to nature and to others and, if you read the Wiccan rede ( the motto) it is " An it harm done, do what thou wilt", which means " As long as no harm is done, do as you wish", basically, " Do unto others as you would like done unto you."

I'm not going to shove my religion down your throat. I will explain it, but I'm not going to say " hey, Christianity is wrong, believe in the Pagan way", I will respect your beliefs, and I would appreciate to be respected back.

If you want to show other religions/cultures points of view as well, the Mexican's call it Dia De Los Muertes, or Day of The Dead, basically their Memorial Day. They pay homage to their ancestors and celebrate what a good life they had led.

There is nothing bad about Halloween, just like there is nothing bad about Christmas, despite how many people are just in it for the presents and to sell a Christmas tree and some toys. Don't let the bad people turn your holiday upside down.

Why take a perfectly fun day and ruin it? I know that it is originally a pagaen holiday, what isn't, that celebrates the thin line between the living and the dead. And Halloween is only dangerous if parents don't supervise or ensure certain safety rules are followed. It is perfectly Christian to put on a costume and enjoy all the real creatures that God has put on this Earth. My sons were a fireman and a Dalmatian. My oldest told everyone he wanted to be a hero so they would love Jesus. My baby was just plain adorable!

Your NOT American are you.
American history of the Halloween people are talking about started in 1950 (well with TV & madison ave.) This changed Halloween to an American event, with no evil!
It's a time of stories, parties, and fun. Modern America knows this day is for the CHILDREN.
If you think that a day for children to learn about themselves is bad, don't have children.
This is a night for children to learn about themselves in a fun way, and get treats doing it.
Anyone with a child will tell you that walk to the door is longer than older kids and adults think, and to talk loud enough - you earned that treat.
Devils and all that adult garbage should not be in the life of a child, they are under the age of reason, (12).
Why are you so scared of your community? The people that go out KNOW their community, and are NEIGHBORLY! Too hard a concept for you to understand? Man, CHRSITIANS and other normal people know what neighborly and community mean, and LIVE IT!
You have a lot to learn, and I hope it's soon.
There is only evil IN your heart not from any OUTSIDE influences.

Most responsible parents take their children out for Halloween. If a child is old enough to go trick-or-treating without their parents usually they travel in groups.

Halloween is not "the devil's day." It is not evil.

"Because if you do your homework you'll know it's origins are far from evil. I'm not trying to start a debate, merely gauge an opinion or two.... Who knows Halloween originates from the Pagan festival of Samhain (Sow'ain), the original Pagan New Year? In ancient times, the end of the summer and warm days was marked as the end of the year, the start of the cold winter and hardship marked the new. The veil between this world and the other is said to be the thinnest now, hence Pagans use this time to pay homage to those whom have passed. Genuine Pagans and the religions it encompasses (Wiccan, Druidism, etc) have nothing to do with evil, this is our new year celebration and a chance to say goodbye to loved ones who have passed."

It is not a 'devils day' and you are a nut. Halloween in this country has become (or always been?) just a reason to have fun, especially for the kids. It does not take much brains to stay away from dangerous areas, or is that concept really that difficult for some people? Halloween is not dangerous if you only go to homes that you actually know and trust. That is what we were always told in regard to having "a safe Halloween." Freakin' loon.

What on Earth are you talking about? You're off your rocker lady. Only morons think that Halloween is satanic. What's so evil about dressing up and going out and having fun with your friends and getting free candy while you're at it? I didn't know that dressing up as Tinkerbell and asking for candy meant that I worshiped the devil. By the way, my teachers have always told me "have a SAFE Christmas" too, so what does that mean, that Santa is gonna kidnap and rape me and they want me to be careful? No, it just means that they know we're kids and do foolish stuff.....next time read your question before posting it so you can save yourself the embarrassment.

why not
Christians have been scaring people all over the globe for centuries ,
they came to my country and tortured and killed thousands of people
there are no more dangerous people than them
they are now planning to take over the world at all cost intending to kill probably billions of people if what Kissinger said is anything to go by ,like lowering the world population by 60% that is a lot more scary than halloween.

i think you need to pull your head out of the past and realize that you views are not always the right views, by posting this you are trying to force your beliefs and religion on other people and for that you should be shamed.

if you want something to ***** about, go complain about child pornography or crime, or some REAL problem in life, not this

Halloween is a day to have fun, its fun to scare people. and its also healthy, it get your blood flowing and cleans out the cobwebs, so to speak

so in closing you are the real devil here, now go suck a lemon.
