Following steps would result in shining ornaments just in a few minutes:
1. Put your gold ornaments in soapy water and add some bleaching powder (face bleach power will be better since it is mild).
2. After soaking them for a while use an old and cleaned toothbrush to scrub them in circular motions from all angles.
3. Use the peel of a squzeed lemon to run on the ornaments after brushing.
4. Take them out of the water solution now and wash them with fresh mild warm water and wipe off dry.
5. Rub talcum power on them and wipe off with a clean soft cloth.
You are ready to flaunt your brand new sparkling gold ornaments now!

Good quality gold does not need to be polished.

I use toothpaste to polish my gold, it works great and you don't have to spend any money on buying gold cleaner.
