The United Center, where the Bulls now play, was NOT built on the site of the old Chicago Stadium. The old stadium was directly across the street.

It's the United Center, but United Airlines which is based out of Chicago chipped in part of the funding for it's construction just like The Forum in Los Angeles where the Lakers play was renamed the Staples Center when the Staples office store chain contributed part of the money for remodeling and that also goes for Commiskey Park where the White Sox play when it was renamed US Cellular field and was build across the street where the old park and MACK truck's main headquarters once stood.
