When I cold start my 2002 Jetta and try to move it before it has warmed up a little, it tries to stall. I have to keep the engine reved up for a couple minuets. Any ideas why?

most likely carbon deposits in throttle body and a gummy constant idle motor the throttle body can be cleaned with cheapo carb clean spray and a brass "toothbrush" the constant idle motor is delicate to clean out BG products makes a cleaner that is pretty easy on the idle motor [regular carb clean will ruin the idle motor] don't forget to service the crankcase ventilation system at this time [as lack of attention here is what normally clogs this stuff up]. good luck and no smoking around fuel or cleaners also when was the last time this car was tuned up? always get the ignition right before messing with fuel or air management

Just a guess, perhaps the temp sensor for the PCM is going wonky. Best to take the car to a VW specialist and have them scan for codes and data stream. If there's a sensor problem, 8 out of 10 times these scans will send the mechanic in the right direction.

the engine needs to run 'rich' when cold and at a higher idle. You probably have a vacuum leak thus leaning out your fuel mixture and at the same time masking the problem because vacuum leaks causes the idle to go up. Listen for a hissing noise under the hood. Good Luck!

go to auto zone they will check your battery and alternate it is probably that the same thing happened to me and i went there and they charged my battery and everything for free and it worked good as new the reason is your alternate on some cars does not always kick in right away it sometimes takes a few minuets so your battery takes the load and after a while your battery loses charge

i own a repair shop, and it could be about anything, but you might need to check the plugs in it,when they get old they loose there resistance to heat, and don't hold the heat like they once would ,and this causes one to be cold natured, and one other thing also it might have a fuel filter getting clogged up on it,and when its cold it needs more gas to run on,so these are two things i would check,or have checked,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
