I take Vicodin for back pain and sometimes it makes me nauseated. Don't take it on an empty stomach. Also, it takes time to get used to it. Try a half of a pill with milk and/or food.
Don't give up on it.

I know three people who take Vicodin, and all I can say is that it's a wicked drug. Yes, flush it down the toilet, and eat first then take ibuprophen the next time you have cramps. Ibuprophen is an NSAID, and it will clear up prostoglandins in your system that cause cramps. So a little ibuprophen when you first feel crampy may save you the entire period.
Good luck!

you do not have an hypersensitive reaction to the codeine according to say in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it makes you nauseus and additionally you have GI area outcomes. Codeine has a tendency to be the worst one; I even have had a great number of sufferers that the tylenol3 makes ill yet can tolerate vicodin/percocet/lortab == those are derivatives of codeine. many times what occurs, is that the codeine pops up as a pharmacy alert and that they only cancel all codeine derivatives. in basic terms shop telling them which you're taking vicodin without outcomes. I continually shown narcotic hypersensitive reactions with my sufferers as a great style of cases they weren't genuine hypersensitive reactions; and counseled the drugstore. Your different decision is to no longer tell them with reference to the tylenol3; that's no longer many times an excellent determination in hospitals to apply and in the event that they attempt to grant it to you, you could continually tell them it makes you ill to the tummy and refuse and ask for a distinctive med.

Registered Nurse Here; Vicodin is usually an excellent pain reliever, however as with any medication, it varies from individual to individual. If it makes you vomit each time you take it, I would strongly suggest you stop taking it and consult for an alternative medication, analgesic (pain reliever), that doesn't cause you such harsh side effects. Thanks for the opportunity to address your well written and thought out question. Sounds as if you had already figured out the resolution for yourself. Take Care and Check with your Doctor.

You're probably allergic to codeine. Vicoden is a synthesized form. Try Percocet or Darvocet.
