I see the others couldn't think generally as "small" did... Let me repeat... GENERALLY... But I'm still accepting some more ideas...

It's a yin / yang things. You need both to come up with decisions that are worthwhile.
For a purely technical or practical problem, I'd pick a man most of the time. They are generally more capable of setting aside their emotions to focus on the problem at hand. (OK. So the roof has collapsed and we are trapped. What do we do? that kind of thing).
Ethical questions, aesthetic questions are usually better left to women. They don't overthink these things and have more of an instant feel for what is right. If a woman tells me she has a 'hunch', experience has also taught me these 'hunches' were more often right than wrong. They also tend to be better at interpersonal relationships, including negotiations. They generally have a better idea how people are feeling. (You can't hide an office romance from a woman - most men are completely oblivious to that).
If I were to form a government, I'd want to put a man in charge of the military, but a woman in charge of foreign affairs. A man would be in charge of the treasury, but a woman would administer social programs. The Ministry of Industry would go to a man, but a woman would be in charge of the environment, etc..., etc...
Like I say, it all depends. Both are needed for the world to work properly. It's a Yin-yang thing.

If left entirely to think individually and decide (in an isolated decision making system where the person does not discuss the matters concerning decision making with others) then woman.

But with a woman's advices or suggesions - definitely the man.
Since he will get inputs from the woman which are very pragmatic and close to reality.
And he will use his stronger logic and vast decision making skills with the woman's inputs considered.

So a man (assuming he is good at rational thinking and decision making skills and also has common sense, which are rare though) with inputs from woman is the best decision maker in the world ! Since such a man will look from a much wider perspective than a woman usually would. But he will not miss out on woman's more practical and realistic inputs to the situation.

I believe that neither decides better than the other. Everyone is a unique individual and a person can't assume whether or not a person's a good decision maker by their gender. Men aren't always calm-under-heat, logical thinking machines who never let their emotions get in the way and women aren't always emotional and concerned for everyone's well being.

People don't have to be grouped into categories because of their gender.

Barring exceptions, generally speaking, men decide better than women.

One reason for this is of course the capability of men to come to logical conclusions even in cases where emotional involvement is high - for instance a situation involving one's own child.

Secondly, women do a lot of things based on an intuition or impulse. Men suffer from lack of intuition, hence learn to ignore it in majority of cases.

Thirdly, women like to stick to stability - this makes them a bit dogmatic in decision making. Men who like change and challenge are rarely dogmatic in decision making. This actually leads to another syndrome - any joint decision taken by man and woman gets more influenced by the view of the woman, since she dogmatically holds on to it and refuses to listen to other views.

Let me repeat that the question sought general trend and accordingly the answer is just that - umpteen number of exceptions would of course occur - when they do, we say the woman is manly or the man is lady-like.

It depends on the situation.Like if the situation is based on short term issues then logical approach must be taken in account in which man wins the race but when long term issues are considered
emotional approach plays a major role in which we all know woman are the champs.
So,it all the situation which matters most.

Wow it's kinda hard...you need to have a base to answer such question, for example, considering companies, most of CEO's are men, so based on that we could say that on management issues men decides better than woman...but I cannot trust on it simply 'cause I don't that kind of determinist vision...I think both men and woman have all conditions to make good decisions whenever they are, of course, we do know that they reach to decision through different concentration process (emotional, rational, logic) but I think that don't infer on the main result.

Logically ~ Emotional Structures...nope, it depends on the person, not the gender.
My husband is very emotional, and I think things through, and most people would say, men are the logical ones and women are the emotional ones.
It just depends on the individual!

The total number of great prophets who were female is zero. The only female military leader in history was Joan of Arc, who got burned at the stake in a marketplace when she was nineteen years old. Only a fairified country like England would have a female head of state. They had Margaret Thatcher, may God have mercy, and they've still got their German queen.

obviously the male has outsmarted the female just as the 60's were coming to an end. you see the men gave the women their much sought after freedom of expression. then they won the toilet seat dilemma.

have u noticed how almost all the guys said 'men' lol
u have to be pretty narrow minded if ur answer is either men or women ..or maybe it has to do something with insecurities ...one guy has admitted that men tend to defend men when it comes to subjects like that because they r so insecure these days....he said 'women r taking over' lol
there cannot be any answer to ur ?n..especially 'general' answer...it totally depends on personality, SUBJECT, and etc...
