Read books! There are lots of great books on marriage.
I am amazed that people go through years of college (reading books, studying, taking test, etc) to prepare for a job that may last them 10 years, but we don't take the time to read books about RELATIONSHIP and how to make marriage work.
Find a good book(s) about how to make marriage work! I would suggest at least 3 books and glean the best information from them.

How DO you prepare?
Take a hammer and smash a different toe every night for ten nights. Then, while you are healing, chew on sandpaper every night for three days. Then, while driving to work stop your car in the middle of a busy road and just sit there for fifteen minutes listening to people honk their horns, scream insults and give you the finger.
There. You have just experienced two weeks of marriage. Best wishes.

how did? do you mean how do you prepare for marriage? this is a really vague question... there is emotional preparation & then there is the kind where you get your finances, etc stable for marriage. but it really depends upon the person for specifics. you just want to be ready for commitment & have stability in your life.
basically, you have to get a huge chunk of that irresponsible behavior out of your system... by push, shove or time.

You prepare by getting as much of your baggage and cr*p resolved before asking someone to share your life.

be ready to never have sex with anyone else, to accept the woman you love as more than her appearance, and have enough commitment to get through any rough spots life can and will throw at you. if you can't do that, you are not ready.
