The Sun for all the reasons that lindajune posited...plus this:

Our Solar System may not be the norm for stars in the Universe. The observational evidence is that most stars are parts of multiple star systems, not single stars like our Sun.

It has been speculated that if Jupiter had been about 100 times more massive than it is, it would have formed a star instead of a planet. Thus, maybe the Solar System very nearly became a common binary star system instead of an unusual single star with planets. If Jupiter had ignited, the Earth might not even exist, or even if it existed would be in an orbit giving it surface conditions definitely not favorable to the evolution of life as we know it.

Of your choices, the closest (but not really correct) is c) the sun.
The sun is mostly hydrogen and helium, with traces of some heavier elements.
Jupiter is mostly hydrogen and helium under pressure, with some small percentages of methane, ammonia, and a few traces of oxygen and nitrogen. It likely also has a very small rocky or metallic core (though many scientists state the core is actually metallic hydrogen made solid under pressure.
Since Jupiter radiates about 3 times as much energy as it receives from the sun, it has been theorized the Jupiter is a "protostar", one that just isn't massive enough to cause the nuclear reaction of hydrogen fusion that causes the star to shine.
But there are planets up to 75 times as massive as Jupiter that also don't shine like the stars, so this theory doesn't seem as likely anymore.
