No, you can't take Pepto Bismol for morning sickness. I know how you feel though as I lost 16 pounds my first trimester from excessive vomiting and nausea as I didn't want to eat!

What worked for me, for awhile anyway, was anything sour....lemon, lime, Skittles (yep, I craved them like crazy), and 7UP. Try leaving some 7UP out so the fizz is gone....just syrup. If you're still nauseatious or vomiting after trying what I have just mentioned, talk to your doctor about Zofran. It's a pill that is specifically designed for women to overcome morning sickness. Congrats on the pregnancy!!

NO!....Pepto is harmful and may cause you to miscarry. If you have morning sickness, you need no salt crackers, clear fluids, and try to eat small meals. Iron pills help with the light headness, eat right and things will pan out

Can I use Pepto-Bismol if I am pregnant or nursing?
If you are pregnant or nursing, ask a doctor before taking Pepto-Bismol. As with any drug, read the label thoroughly before use.

NO NO NO - do not take anything. The only medicine approved during pregnancy is Tylenol unless ok'd by your doctor. Pepto has aspirin in it - no good for the baby.

For morning sickness try - saltine crackers and flat coke - try and have it by your bedside so you can consume it before you move. Also, I found that if I ate something in the morning and threw it up I felt better - with the second child - I couldn't keep down water - the whole day.

Good luck and hang in there - just keep trying stuff you will eventually find something to keep down. --- maybe mashed potatoes.

Instead of the Pepto Bismol try some ginger ale. When I had morning sickness I drank organic ginger tea and this stuff worked great on my stomach. If you decide to you this make sure to talk to your doctor first, because there are some teas you have to be careful about. I didn't hurt me or the baby, but that is me.

Congratulations on being pregnant!

I had the WORST morning sickness when I was pregnant with my twins. People gave me all kinds of advice and nothing helped. But I'll give you advice anyway (it may or may not help!)

First, don't take any medication unless your doctor says it's ok.

Second, try to eat something first thing when you wake up. I usually vomited the first thing I ate every morning, but to be honest, it's better to vomit on a full stomach than an empty one.

(Sorry to be gross... but you know what we're dealing with here!)

Finally... and this is the most important piece of advice I have... Never forget the reason you're going through all this torture. I swear, the second you see that baby you'll forget it all! (Ok, maybe you won't forget it completely... but your memory will be dulled!) Believe me, whatever you are going through is totally worth it.

A couple other suggestions that I've heard, but I haven't tried... ginger (It's supposed to calm the stomach) and sea bands (you wear them on your wrist)

Pregnant women can't take Pepto Bismol. Tums is doctor recommended, but always check with your doctor first anyway. To solve the problem for now, you can drink some milk, if you're tolerant.

:)

I would call your doctor tomorrow and ask if they can prescribe you something for the morning sickness. Mine gave me some pills that I take right before I eat and also a cream to put on my wrists. I still have nausea a little, but the medicine has made a difference.

Yes you can. It might and it might not...though it's not likely to help. No, it isn't bad for the baby at all. However, I suggest you go to your doctor and ask for something. There are plenty of prescription drugs you can take to end morning sickness.
