Rapists are usually always men.

Raper is a word. Raper and rapist mean the same thing.

By analogy to actor/actress, it should be raper/rapress.

But in reality, there are fewer and fewer gender based words in the English language, and females who act are lately just being called actors. Once, a woman could be a poetess, or authoress, even a paintress. We don't deal in that much anymore.

We lost stewardess, for example, by calling them flight attendants, since now you see men doing that job, too, and they didn't call the men stewards, which is what "stewardess" is formed from. There are still inequalities: if a woman makes a suit, she's a seamstress, but if a man makes a suit, he's a tailor.
