The song clearly states that "you can dance if you want to" so it is obvious that by dancing, you are taking the risk yourself and therefore holding the songwriters free from blame for any injuries sustained.

So I'm guessing if you recall the song and the dance moves you are not really all that young and you'll have only the promise of the lyrics "Everything'll work out right".

Well, you said if your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance they ain't no friends of yours so you're kinda at fault for being alone when it happened.
But I would say just punching someones parked car and walking off does the trick for me.
