Unless you have real problems with it once a week for scrubbing the bowl should cover that part of the needs. The flow of the water as it fills is supposed to keep that part clean anyway.
As far as the top surface and the seat every day or two might be appropriate there.

I have outdoor plumbing (outhouse), so I never clean mine. But if I had indoor plumbing I'd say two to three times a week with normal use. Don't forget to wipe ( Y ) and flush with every use.
