If your toe is broken, you'll probably know it pretty quickly. You'll need to get it checked. Hopefully it's not broken, but just jammed or stubbed.

This is painful but no medical attention will do more for you than the following: if the skin is broken / you're bleeding, stop the blood by applying pressure, and get some Neosporin or similar onto that area. If you don't mind pain, do a quick splash of peroxide first and dry completely -- that kills incipient infection. Press the nail back into place as best you can and band-aid it up, adding tape to keep the bandage in place if necessary. Change bandages after bathing and perhaps one other time daily -- got to keep the site clean. The part of the nail that bent back will be lost, obviously, and maybe a bit more depending. Cut it back when you feel a little brave and the pain has worn off.

This is just what I've done in the past. Don't trust my opinion though, seek professional assistance if you think it necessary. Good luck, be brave.

well if it happens to be broken, there is not alot that you can do for a broken toe. If the nail has come back but is still attached leave it alone. it will fall off when it is ready. But you might want to put a bandaid around it so it won't snag anything when your walking around. that would hurt even worse. just kinda watch it for a couple days for infection as well. if it still hurts in a few days, then you might need to go to the dr. to get it checked out.

Ouch...I'd just cry a whole bunch! Hopefully you live somewhere warm and don't have to wear shoes!! I think I'd cut it so it wasn't hanging off.
