I remember my cousin laying in the ditch in front of his house pretending he had been hit by a car. He had fake blood all over him. He scared me half to death. After laughing about it we decided it would be a good idea to trick my aunt (his mom.) I ran inside and told her Jason had been hit by a car, she ran outside and went crazy. Jason and I started laughing but that soon ended after seeing the look on her face go from concerned to furious. Long story short, we got the lecture of a lifetime and had to spend the rest of our night handing out our trick or treating candy to other trick or treaters.

When I was about seven or eight, my sister and I weren't allowed to trick-or-treat, so we waited at the door with our mom to give out candy. We'd rush to the window (there was a 10-inch wide vertical window next to the door) and look out at the costumes and get all excited about the gremlins and princesses and batmans, etc.
About the fifth time we did this, there were some teenage guys all huddled around the window with face makeup that looked like their faces were melting like wax, with all the veins and arteries twisted around and popping out (3-dimensional) under whatever was left of the skin. I think they had those fake monster teeth, too. You know, the ones that make a person look like a cross between a monkey and a wild pig.
Today, I still remember those faces and think that was so cool, but at the time, my sister and I were terrified. We stayed away from the windows for about six doorbell rings after that, and then we wouldn't go without Mom looking out the window first.

My most vivid Halloween memory was when I was twelve. I was already about 5'8 so I looked like a teenager. Nobody would give me any candy. An old lady shut the door in my face. I was angry and sad, but looking back on it now I think it was kinda funny.
This happened only three years ago, but it still comes to my mind when someone talks about Halloween. I haven't been trick or treating sence then.

I was talking about mine tonight. There was a house next to my grandparents, that when you get close (to ring the door bell) they would play scarey music and flash the lights. I hated it, but my mom always made me go up there.
