i think racism is directed between whites and all other cultures, races and religons, it seems its always between whites and someone else wether it be black, mexican, puerto rican, and whatever else oe coudl think of. i think maybe its more perdominant in blacks and whites because e have such a long history, i mean, asians didnt invade africa and enslave blacks etc.

Historically, whites and blacks had the largest populations of people in the US. We don't really talk about the racism between European Austrailans and Aboriginals because we don't have Aboriginal inhabitants here. The same logic applies for why we haven't in the past talked much about Chinese/Hispanic/Muslim/Native American vs. Caucasian racism. In the past, there weren't many Chinese, Hispanics, or Muslims so we didn't really have much of a need to talk about it. And most Native Americans died out when Europeans moved here. When Hispanics started migrating here in large numbers, the talks about racism against Hispanics increased. And after Sept. 11, people started talking a little about racism against them, too.
But I think it may also have something to do with the fact African Americans don't seem to put up with racism as much as the other races. They are much more organized and outspoken about racism whereas Hispanic/Muslim/Chinese people seem to just group with each other and pretend it doesn't happen.
I'm assumed to be Hispanic all the time (even though I'm technically not) and I think people just don't like getting into taboo topics with each other more than anything else. They'd like to seem considerate and polite, even if not talking about racial issues is detrimental to minorities in the long run.

That's kinda strange. People talk about everyone. Hispanics are the main target when it comes to immigration issues, Muslims have that terrorist mantra going, and Native Americans....well, how would YOU like to have a sports team called the Atlanta Whiteys or the Cleveland Negroes, not to mention the Florida State Mexicans? Racisim is an issue in more ways than one. Maybe the reason that it seems like it's directed between blacks and whites is because thats what has the longest history of racisim. I mean, c'mon...400 years of oppression, right?

There have been some (false) claims that racism plays into the anti-illegal alien issue. It's actually a matter of principle that those breaking the law should be held accountable.
Most Asians these days have avoided racism since they place a high value on family values and education. Thus, they are able to achieve a high degree of financial success.
Muslims are not a race but belong to a religion.
Unfortunately, many blacks suffer from negative images that are reinforced by the media, particularly black music videos which feature the exploitation of women, deadbeat fathers, dropping out of school, gangs, etc. It is certainly an unfair stereotype yet it exists.

It's because of everything white people have done to us in the past. Our distant relatives were killed by whites for no reason at all. Look @ http://www.blackwallstreet.freeservers.com/.
These are only a few of the things white people did to us just because we were black. Honestly, there are still SOME whites who still view us as NOTHING, and if they had the chance to kill us and get away with it, Like the black holocaust...they would do it.Whites and Blacks always conflicted with each other, and it started all the way back when white people kidnapped us from our homeland.
White people pick on other races too like Latins, Asians, Middle Eastern races, and Native Americans. White people are the ones who came up with all of the nicknames like redskins, wetbacks, savages, n!gger, spicks, terrorists, coon and whatever other ignorant names they came up with. White people killed all of the Native Americans and took over their land. Then, they set up Thanksgiving to remind everyone of that tragedy.
But racism between blacks and whites is still very much alive today. I live in a pre-dominately white neighborhood, and I have experienced it a lot in the two decades I've been alive.

I think it has a lot to do with the issue of slavery, especially in the United States when farmers bought slaves for work on the huge plantations in the south. Also, the Civil War, which was a major dispute between the northern states, who wished to abolish slavery and the southern states who did not, is still a major part of history regarding the racism between the two. Finally, the gaining of rights that African Americans faught so hard for and finally earned remind us how determined and deserving they were and are of freedom and equality. In fact, because of their marvelous efforts, all races are now treated as equals under the government of the United States.

Firstly, "Muslim" is not a race, but I suspect you meant Arab.
Good question though ... racism exists between all races. In my country it is a problem mainly between blacks or Africans as they are called here and Indians (people who originally came from India and Pakistan). Both races would be a minority in America, and in many other parts of world, so I don't really see what the problem is.
Muslims believe that people were divided into tribes, nations and races so that they may know one another ... not so that they may despise the other based on colour or nationality.
Once we are different, we begin to think that our differences mean that we are better than another race ... but I think that we silly humans seem to forget that we ALL belong to the race of mankind and we are more alike than we are different.

I truly do not know why it is like this, but most racial issues are mainly surrounded in the Black and White community. It is almost as if it is a Black and White World, and others. I don't get it, Although, I am sure that their are racism between all groups. I guess this goes back to slavery and the civil rights movement the White and Black Love, Hate relationship.

you have really got the game twisted dont you. The race card is not just played with black and white people, it is played with all race. Gangs are not just with hispanics, there with whites and blacks alike. Where i live, there is even an African gang not just with black and whites. There is also a gang with native americans too. check it out

Ignorance.
We fear each other.
The real reason is that we're different and it's much easier to see that, then it is to see similarity.
I think you might consider rewording your question: Why do we have to hate?
We're all here for the same game.
This is the question though that noone really wants to tackle. It would mean that we'd have to let go of our pitiful egos, sad existances and maybe move on some, into a new world view.
The day we do that, everyone will be in a better place.

There's lots of discussions about racism!
Hispanics - have you seen the news? (border issues)
Muslims - have you seen the news? (humm, Iraq war)
Native Americans - have you seen the news? (Columbus Day?)
You can find it if you want to and it is an important issue to discuss. Good Luck!
