It depends upon the compound/element. Say i had .652 grams of O2, oxygen's molar mass is 16, 16 x 2 = 32. .652 grams/ 32 grams per mole = .020 moles

assume that we get 1 litre so we also have 0.652 grams
the moles we have is n= 0.652/M ( M is the mass of a mole of that substance )
n is also the moles per litre
